Valerie moved to Strathspey in 2000 with her husband Kevin. She had long wanted to live in the Highlands and to be nearer to the pines and the mountains which are the subject of many of her paintings. She retired from her post as Curator of The University of Stirling Art Collection in 2003 to concentrate on her own work. One of her interests at Stirling was its fine collection of outdoor sited sculptures so being involved in helping to set up the Trust for Frank's work seemed to be a natural step. She was awarded the AMA ( an Associate of the Museums Association) in 2003 and is looking forward to using her skills in the development of a gallery to house Frank's smaller works. She is a keen hillwalker, reader and gardener and also plays the fiddle in the Highland Chamber Orchestra.

Penny Weir (Convenor)
Penny was brought up near Oxford and, through working there with the British Trust for Ornithology in the late 1950s, she heard of the need for volunteers to help in protecting the one and only pair of Ospreys nesting at Loch Garten. She met her husband there and they settled in Speyside in the early 1960s and reared their family. Penny set up Loch-an-Eilein Pottery in the 1980s and through the Pottery she met Frank's daughter, Elaine who introduced her to Frank and his sculptures.
